Video Presentations on Social Stories...Great Job by All!!

Today in class we were entertained by the wonderful Social Story videos created by our classmates.  I learned a great deal as the Social Stories were all on different scenarios.  However, the creativity of our classmates is amazing!  Congratulations to all of us!

Our group finally were ready to present our Social Story...it was a nervous time!  Our group went to the front of the room to present.  I began by giving a brief synopsis of the background of the child while Barb and Terry worked feverishly to get our video working....I believe I almost needed a Social Story myself on how to deal with anxiety, but I pulled through it!  Next, Darlene began by reading off how our Social Story relates to the IPP goals for our student.  It is important to note that this story is in fact modelled from a real student Darlene will be dealing with next year.  So, the relevance and usefulness of this story will be wonderful and a work in action next year.

Thankfully, the video was ready to go and it played for the class.  They were all so appreciative of our hard work and we were very thankful that we were successful.  Terry was very creative in the end (as the day before, we had gone through filming the entire social story video upside down), she included the end clip from our original video as a blooper, with a catchy little title as well as a music clip "Don't Worry Be Happy".  Great Job, Terry!

As well, Terry has found out how to link this movie from her computer to YouTube, so I have linked it here on my blog as well.  Thanks for doing that, Terry and you will have to show me that process tomorrow in class!

I hope you all enjoyed our Social Story Movie Presentation today and feel free to view it again and again on the link below!  Thanks to all of your for sharing your creative ideas and videos!

  1. Wow! You are quite the blogger! The detail of your low tech stuff is impressive. Great ideas. It is so interesting to me that of the items I've seen so far none are duplicate! We are a creative bunch.
